Blooming into Mindfulness Launch Events

BloomingIntoMindfulness4-HiRes-1 SMALLI’m writing this morning from Lake Placid, New York, where we’re fitting in a couple of days of skiing between college visits with my 17-year-old son. Managing a book launch on the road–including having to put out a few fires such as the book being offline on Amazon for a few hours yesterday–has been a testament to what’s possible as a self-publisher (as long as wi-fi isn’t too far away).

For those of you who have already ordered the paperback version of Blooming into Mindfulness: How the Universe Used a Garden, Cancer, and Carpools to Teach Me that Calm Is the New Happy, THANK YOU!

If you haven’t ordered your copy yet, please check out the lovely reviews on Amazon. I’ve lost count of the number of people who have said, “This is my story!”

Now the fun part begins — BOOK LAUNCH EVENTS!

For my local friends, here are a couple of opportunities for you to come get your book signed:

Sunday, March 6, 5-7 p.m.: Book Signing at Caboose Brewing Company, 520 Mill Street NE, Vienna, VA, 22180

Tuesday, March 8, 7-8 p.m.: Book Signing at One More Page Books, 2200 N. Westmoreland St., Ste. 101, Arlington, VA, 22213 (This is also International Women’s Day. Come support a sister to celebrate!!)

I have some private signings scheduled as well. Would you like to be added to my list??

My biggest challenge as an indie author and publisher will be marketing and distribution. Supportive reviews on Amazon, recommending the book to whomever will listen, suggesting it to book clubs, mindfulness groups, parenting groups, gardening groups, or cancer survivor groups–any little bit of positive PR will help. And yes, I’m happy to talk to groups in person. Thanks for being members of my “discoverability” team!

The ebook (which will be available on Kindle, iBook, and Nook) won’t be ready for another week or so. The main difference between the two versions is that the photos in the print version are in black and white (still cool), whereas the photos in the electronic version are in color. It’s not a photography book, but a few of my images are included.

And once again, if you haven’t bought your copy yet, run on over to Amazon by clicking here! THANK YOU!!!
