October threw me for a loop.
The month started out fairly quietly, with my book promotion to support METAvivor.org (it’s never too late to donate directly!) and my 30-day #Octoberfocus photo challenge supplementing my mindfulness-inspired endeavors and an indie author book event.
Somewhere along the line, however, things got kind of crazy. People came out of the woodwork asking me to collaborate on various events. All of the opportunities are fantastic and FUN, so I’ve been swimming as fast as I can to make it all happen. (Blog posts have taken a hit in the process, but I’m determined to get back on track with my writing soon. I miss it!)
In the next two weeks, I have FOUR events on the schedule.
Saturday, November 5, 10 – 11:30 am: The Garden as Mindfulness and Photography Mentor: How Digging in the Dirt Brings Focus to Mind, Spirit, and Camera. Merrifield Garden Center Free Seminar Series, Merrifield Community Hall, 8104 Lee Highway, Merrifield, VA (GPS: Falls Church) (No registration necessary.)
Friday, November 11, 8-10 am: Organizational Well-Being: Why a Balanced Mind, Body, and Soul Is Good for Business, Conference Center, 1420 Spring Hill Road, McLean, VA 22102. For event details and to register click here.
Saturday, November 12, 6:30-9:30 pm: Salon Arlington, Village Sweet Bakery 5872 Washington Blvd, Arlington, VA 22205. I’ll be one of the featured artists at this unique ticketed event. To register contact Mike Chapman at dustyswb@verizon.net.
Sunday, November 13, 2-4:30 pm: Managing Holiday Stress Through Mindfulness and Other Self-Care Practices. Lakevale Community Center, 2554 Oak Valley Drive, Vienna, VA 22181. For event details and to register click here.
My photography is also on display until November 13 at Botanologica, a home and garden design shop located at 817 West Broad Street, Falls Church, VA. The opening reception was magical, captured beautifully by Caren Louise Photographs. Check out the full event album on Facebook at Martha Brettschneider – Writer & Photographer.
Because the art show at Botanologica materialized, I have decided to postpone the private home-based art show I had originally planned for November 18th. Just too much going on so I made the mindful decision to create a little breathing room. Don’t hesitate to contact me, however, if you are interested in purchasing my metal prints for your home or office.
Phew!!!! Time for some photo meditations!
