30-Day Mindfulness Meditation Kick-Start Program for Teens
It’s finally here! In response to multiple requests for a mindfulness meditation program for teens, and after polling teens themselves on how to design it, I’m thrilled to announce that we’ll be diving in on
Monday, July 3 at 9:30 a.m. Eastern Time
Are you a high school- or college-aged student who could use some tools to:
- Access calm in the midst of chaos and anxiety?
- Develop habits that reduce stress, improve focus, increase productivity, boost creativity, and enhance discipline?
- Learn how to implement the mindfulness skills that neuroscientists tell us lead to better health markers, improved memory, higher level thinking, greater happiness, and stronger relationships?
If the answer is yes, you are invited to join me for a very special challenge…
Neuroscience and experienced practitioners confirm that the deepest benefits of mindfulness come from formal daily practice of at least ten minutes a day, preferably in the morning to set yourself up for your best day possible.
As with any new routine, however, accountability and support are key to follow-through.
Accountability + Support = Follow-Through
Research shows that it takes 21 days to create a habit. And together we will kick-start your daily meditation habit and take it a whole 30 days.
I’ll be right there with you, live on the line, every single day, starting at 9:30 a.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST).
Here’s how it will roll…
You’ll dial in to a special conference line for a 9:30 a.m. EST call, where I will guide you through a 10-minute meditation right off the bat. After the meditation, I’ll stay on the line until 10:00 a.m. to answer questions, facilitate discussion, and provide additional mindfulness tips.
If life gets in the way and you aren’t able to make the live call, you can request a recording of the meditation and I’ll send it along for you to listen to on your own schedule.
It doesn’t get much easier than that!
How much does it cost?
Improved stress management, more focus, better decision-making, even stronger athletic performance—all of these benefits (and many more) have been linked to having a regular meditation practice.
Pretty valuable, right?
Because I want this to be such an easy decision for you (and whoever might be paying), I’ve set the price for this 30-Day Meditation Kick-Start Program for Teens at just $75. That price gets you 30 days of live, personal attention and guidance – not an app that won’t know if you show up or not, and not a class at an inconvenient location that you have to haul yourself to.
$75 for 30 days of personal support. 30 days of accountability. 30 days of community with like-minded young people, even if you’re just listening in silently on the call.
A Note to Parents
As fabulous as this program might sound (and I believe it truly IS fabulous, of course), please do NOT sign your child up without their full consent. Regardless of their age, participants need to be fully “in”—curious, open, self-motivated, and enthusiastic—to realize the benefits of this meditation kick-start program. The last thing I want to do is turn someone off of meditation down the road because they felt pressured to try it before they were ready.
Also, I am not a mental health care provider, licensed social worker, or therapist of any sort. Though Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction techniques are often used in therapy settings, my programs are not in that category of service. This program is also thoroughly secular.
Those most suited to this introductory mindfulness meditation program are young people who take an active interest in their physical and emotional well-being, have an interest in cultivating healthy habits, and have a level of discipline that would keep them coming back each day for this 30-Day Challenge. Don’t hesitate to contact me if you have further questions or if you’d like recommendations for other types of support for your child that I am not equipped to provide.

Still on the fence?
Let me tell you a bit more of my story…
It’s crazy, but I never thought I’d be “one of those people who meditate”!
When I first stumbled upon mindfulness teachings in 2009 (quite by accident, but that’s another story), I was recovering from breast cancer. I never would have placed myself in the meditating demographic prior to that! Meditating was for crystal-carrying hippie types with too much time on their hands, not productive people like me with busy lives, right?
Wrong.
My cancer experience sparked an epiphany. I had been missing out on the beauty of my life as it was happening right in front of my nose. My constant focus on when my “next chapter” in life would begin and what that would look like led to tremendous stress, anxiety, discontent, and inefficient decision-making. My inability to live in the present moment created suffering not only for myself, but also for my family through the negative energy I spewed into our home environment. (For more on my personal journey, read my book.)
Before discovering mindfulness, I had no idea that not all the thoughts in my head are to be trusted. And even more importantly, I had no idea that I have a choice in which thoughts to pay attention to and which I can simply ignore.
I wanted to take control of my own state of mind, health, and wellness. The mountain of neuroscience is what finally convinced me that daily meditation was the most efficient means to do it.
Personal study through books, online courses, apps, meditation groups, and retreats was the easy part. The real challenge was learning how to carve out the time for a daily practice–and sticking with it.
Through my own trial and error over the years, I learned and applied strategies for a routine that proved to be the most effective way to make room for meditation in my life–first thing in the morning, before the day’s distractions got in the way.
Perhaps 9:30 a.m. sounds early if you’re a teenager on your summer break. Just so you know, I chose this time based on direct feedback from other teens. You can do this!!
The cool thing is, because it’s by phone, you don’t even need to get out of your pajamas. Heck, you don’t even need to brush your teeth before we start. We’ll just dial in to our conference line. Nobody will see your bed head hair or yesterday’s makeup or whatever the case may be. It’s as simple as rolling out of bed, getting settled in your meditation posture (which we’ll talk about before beginning), and calling in at 9:30 a.m.
I will be there for you, showing up each morning for encouragement, answering whatever questions you may have along the way. And since it’s just a phone call, you can choose to speak or stay quiet during the Q&As, since everyone’s questions and shared experience benefits the group as a whole. I will know you’re there via my conference call dashboard (giving you a silent high five for showing up), but if you want complete privacy you’ve got it.
Let’s do this!

“The tools I learned during the 30-Day Mindfulness Meditation Challenge were a huge help in dealing with stress before tests at school. Being able to draw on the breathing and other meditation techniques we practiced in the program allowed me to feel a lot more relaxed and prepared, especially during finals week.”
~ Sheridan, high school student, Vienna, VA
“I’m grateful for this program. I had been using meditation apps, but always in a reactive way. So when I was stressed, I would say ‘Oh! Where’s my app to help me deal with this stress?’ This program helped me approach mindfulness training in an intentional way, giving me the tools to respond more skillfully to situations as they arise. The structure of this program, especially the community aspect of it with everyone sharing and supporting each other, you don’t get that from an app. Last week I suffered a big loss. Instead of falling back into my old patterns, I just chose to be still. As a result, I was able to let the disappointment flow through me but not control me. I shut down that loud, critical voice that used to dominate me and just was able to be still. So thank you!”
~ Shani, Atlanta, Georgia
“Before the 30-Day Mindfulness Meditation Challenge I spontaneously reacted to events based on how I felt and thought at the time. This led me to sometimes be discontent and critical regarding how I responded. Thanks to this program I see that I can step back and observe how I’m feeling and thinking before I respond. This has helped me to be more proactive in responding to events and as a result I’m a much calmer and thoughtful person.”
~ Maureen Luna Long, Senior Economist, Legislative Branch
“Martha’s expertise is based on extensive research, study of the brain and personal practice. Her teachings explain the science, show us how to apply meditation principles and encourage exploration. At every turn of our challenge, she offered more information: books, apps, websites, blogs, other meditation techniques and teachers, and her personal experiences. I have learned how a part of the brain functions and that we can guide our inner voice.”
~ Laura Skoff, CAE, Virtual Management Innovator, Executive Director and Interim COO, Team Dynamics, Inc.
“I appreciate the breadth and depth of Martha’s skills and knowledge in mindfulness techniques, which she delivers in a straightforward and accessible way, allowing immediate integration of practices that meaningfully impact wellbeing for body and mind. Her rich and insightful offerings provide new ‘tools for the toolbox’ every time.”
~ Carolyn Black Bagdoyan, Owner and Founder, Heart Tree Yoga
“I loved the introduction to different types of meditation. I definitely found certain methodologies easier for me than others and if I’d only been exposed to one or two, I may have dropped it thinking that it just wasn’t for me. I liked calling in–much easier than going somewhere, which would be hard to justify for a short session and too hard to fit in for a longer session. I think the built in Q&A session is perfect for newcomers.”
~ Kerry Crum, Principal Consultant – Customer Analytics and Marketing Optimization
